Take Action Now! Urge Governor Shapiro to Fix the Child Care Staffing Crisis!
Governor Shapiro is already working on his Administration's priorities for the 2025-2026 state budget. Join us in urging the Shapiro Administration to invest $284 million in new and recurring state funding to implement a child care teacher recruitment and retention initiative to fix our child care staffing crisis. Complete the online form so together we can send a strong message to Governor Shapiro that Pennsylvania must fix child care!
Pennsylvania currently has tens of thousands of parents struggling to find the care they need to work and support their families. With more and more child care classrooms closing, the number of families without safe, reliable child care will only increase. The staffing crisis can only be fixed by directly addressing the industry’s unlivable wages. Child care wages are so low in fact, that they do NOT meet the cost of living in ANY county in Pennsylvania.
