Jodi Askins recently relocated with
her family from Erie, Pennsylvania and now resides in Carlisle with her
husband, Todd and two daughters, Alexa and Julianna.
Jodi has nearly
15 years of service working on behalf of children and families across the
state. She is experienced in non-profit management, the administration of
preschool and child care services, fundraising, community organizing and
advocacy. Prior to taking the PennAEYC
Executive Director position in February 2009, she worked for 10 years at Early
Connections, Inc. a social service agency in Erie, PA specializing in
children’s early care and education, community outreach and professional
development services. In addition to her
administrative duties at Early Connections, as the Associate Executive
Director, Jodi also served 18 counties in Northwest PA as the Northwest
Regional Key Community Outreach Specialist.
Jodi’s leadership skills have been
recognized at the state and national level.
At the state level, she was recruited by the Center for Rural
Pennsylvania to be the Team Leader for NW Pennsylvania for the Anne E. Casey
Strengthening Rural Families Economic Success (RuFES) initiative. Nationally, in 2007 she was selected as one
of 20 emerging policy and advocacy leaders from across the country, for a
fellowship with The National Women’s Law Center Progressive Leadership and
Advocacy Network (PLAN).
Jodi has a Bachelors of Science in
Psychology from Arizona State University and a Master’s of Science in Community
Counseling from Gannon University. She currently serves as a member of
the Governor’s Early Learning Council and on several Early Care and Education
committees.

Suzann Morris, Public Policy Coordinator
Suzann Morris supports public policy activities for both
PennAEYC and DVAEYC, the Delaware Valley local NAEYC affiliate. In this
capacity, she works with local AEYC affiliate chapters, parents, child
care practitioners, and advocates in Pennsylvania to raise awareness and
participation in advocacy activities. Suzann travels across
the state as a part of her role for PennAEYC to provide training and support to local child care advocates around public policy
effecting child care. Her previous roles include work in early childhood
and public health advocacy. She holds a Master of Public Administration from
the University of Kentucky.

Tracy Weaver, Outreach Coordinator
Tracy
Weaver serves as an outreach coordinator for PennAEYC's BEST Initiative where
she works with approximately 35 school districts across Pennsylvania to share
the importance and benefits of engaging with the early education community.
Tracy has been involved in early care and education for 10 years with a focus
on helping school districts and early care and education programs work together
to support children and families in meeting the educational needs of children.
Prior to PennAEYC, she coordinated the Early Care and Education Project at Community Action in Jefferson and Clarion Counties for 8 years. Tracy has a
bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and lives in rural
Clearfield County.
