Early Childhood Education Fellowship Program
In collaboration with Pennsylvania QUEST and PennAEYC, the PA Early Childhood Fellowship program is now being launched to train a new generation of early childhood leaders. A cohort of 12 to 16 practitioners from around the state will participate in this leadership program, which is designed to educate, connect, and support emerging leaders working to effect positive change in the field of early childhood. Participants will be selected from across Pennsylvania on a competitive basis and must be able to commit to five Friday/Saturday sessions held in July, October, January, March and May. Program sessions will be held in varying locations across the state, with stipends available to cover expenses. Over the course of the program, participants will be expected to participate in 90 hours of group work or its equivalent, engage in QUEST advocacy projects and other relevant local advocacy activities, and complete an individualized action plan.
Upon completion of the program, participants will be eligible to receive 3 college credits through St. Joseph’s University. In addition to the professional development received in this process, fellows will meet and work with the ECE leadership in the state, be invited to various local and statewide ECE tables, and be offered other leadership opportunities as appropriate.
Meetings will be on Friday and Saturday, with the schedule as follows:
· October 9-10, Philadelphia
· January 8-9, Pittsburgh
· March 19-20, Altoona
· June 7-8, Harrisburg (note: since this includes Early Childhood Action Day, it is a Monday and Tuesday)
· July 16-17, Erie
A small travel stipend will be available.
