Center History: Children’s Village opened in Jan. 1985 with 3 classrooms – Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool. It is a department of Doylestown Hospital, an inclusive center, and currently has 12 classrooms Infants – Preschool and 1 Department of Education Kindergarten.
Accreditation Dates: First Accreditation was 1990 and we are currently accredited until Nov. 2012.
Classrooms/ages & numbers: We have 2 infant rooms, 3 one year old rooms, 3 two year old rooms, 3 three year old rooms, 2 four year old rooms and 1 Kindergarten.
Parent involvement component: We have a Parent Enhancement Program (PEP). Each classroom has 2 representative to PEP who help with communication, fund raising, and staff appreciation. We had our first consignment sale this spring that was a huge success and we raised $1350.00 toward playground improvements.
AEYC involvement: One of our teachers is currently President of BCAEYC and the director is chairman of the Accreditation Committee.
Staff profiles: All of our co-teachers have a CDA, an associates, or a Bachelors degree. We currently require all staff to have a minimum of a CDA to be employed at C.V.
