Chapter Accreditation Ideas and Activities
Bucks County AEYC: We did a presentation on Special Needs A-Z that emphasizes the training requirements to meeting NAEYC requirements for 2 centers.
Workshops on accreditation; grants to accredited programs with BCAEYC members; workshops on working with children with special needs to meet the accreditation guidelines.
Capital Area AEYC
Central Susquehanna AEYC: Accredited programs are recognized at the CSAEYC conference in April. A workshop on accreditation is also offered annually.
Delaware Valley AEYC: We lead an accreditation facilitation project for family child care – resulting in 40 accredited providers (all but one of the STAR 4 providers). We convene an interest group on NAEYC accreditation for directors; we have offered on-site technical assistance for a number of programs as requested by practitioners.
East Penn AEYC: Appointed an Accreditation Chair.
Lancaster Area AEYC
Lebanon Valley AEYC: Support in any way we can, for example membership letters were needed for re-accreditation, and our membership chair did it form them.
Lehigh and Northampton AEYC
Monroe County AEYC: mentor anyone who is interested in becoming accredited/ reaccredited and by our continued support of Keystone STARS; congratulations to newly accredited/ reaccredited centers is placed in the local CCIS newsletter; recognize accredited programs and those undergoing reaccreditation at the Recognition Dinner

Pittsburgh AEYC: We have an active accreditation committee and we are working closely with the Southwestern Regional Key on a project to help centers move from STAR 2 to Accreditation. We are also developing professional development opportunities to assist centers in the new changes around STARS and accreditation.
York Area AEYC
